Asira Foundation

Asira Foundation is renowned in community development and empowerment in Khwisero district which was our starting point . Established in 2005, Asira foundation today has a development track record and a strong backbone of  professionals and partners. We want to make a difference in the quality of life in the rural parts of Kenya by addressing the mindsets that can be molded by good education.
As an organization that is already working within community we already have achieved the following:

1. Scholarship Program whose focus is to enable deserving and needy students to pursue and acquire an education that allows them to be self supporting and productive members of the Society.
2. We also have kept the girl child in school by providing sanitary pads, which ensures that they do not skip school during their monthly periods.
3. Sponsored and facilitated the installation of electricity in primary schools.
4. Facilitated book harvest for school libraries.
5. Facilitated anti-jigger treatments. We are in the process of initiating eradication programs.
6. Sponsored sports tournaments to spur socio economic growth among the youth.
7. Facilitated set up and monitoring of micro-finance economic projects.
8. Facilitated drilling of water sources.

Training sessions are conducted by experts to train our staff and other volunteers on new skills. Such sessions have proved useful in the past and we plan to conduct them on a regular basis. To make sure that our staff works with complete dedication, we offer them various incentive and other schemes.

The motto **Helping Hands** describes our determination to provide our communities with the best of solutions as far as holistic development is concerned. Our ground network is our strongest point providing unrivalled contact fidelity of ten villages to a worker.
